Biography
Jessie is in her rookie season with the Turbos, but has been around the team for several seasons on the AP list. In fact, she’s attended two national championships with the team. In 2010’s Nationals in Saskatoon, Jessie got a poster signed by banquet guest speaker Catriona LeMay Doan with the message “Keep Believing” and those are words that inspire her. They will guide her as she competes in the U19 Worlds in London, ON this year. She’s very proud and excited to be given the opportunity to play for Team Canada East. .
A goalie since she started playing ringette at age 7 in her hometown of Mississauga, Ontario, Jessie’s developed a growing list of career achievements including provincial gold and silver and NRL silver as an AP with the Turbos. But her most memorable achievement so far is a gold medal with Team Ontario at the Canada Winter Games in 2011. She says it was a surreal experience to win a tight game in overtime against Alberta to capture the Canadian championship. .
To give back to her sport, Jessie instructs at goalie clinics throughout the season and at the Southern Ontario Ringette Camp in the summer. Jessie is currently studying Environmental Sciences at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON.
