Biography
Emma has spent her entire ringette career playing in her hometown of Cambridge. It was always a goal to be able to make the NRL team here and play with the players she looked up to as a youngster. For Emma, playing in the NRL means performing her favourite sport at the highest level with excellent sportsmanship because every young ringette player is looking up to you. It really is a showcase league, combining all elite players in one league really makes for excellent games no matter which team is playing, she says.
With her Cambridge minor teams, Emma won gold in Petite AA and silver in Belle AA, as well as a silver medal with Southern Region AAA team at the Ontario Winter Games. As a Turbo, Emma won silver at the 2011 NRL Championships held in her hometown.
Emma loves a special memory of her years in Novice and Petite. She says the players convinced their dads to play “Who let the dogs out” on a giant boom box every time they skated onto the ice or scored a goal. It always got a good laugh from the fans.
Now attending Conestoga College’s Nursing School, Emma plans to become a pediatric or labour and delivery nurse.
