BC Thunder announce tryouts and schedule details

The BC Thunder of the National Ringette League (NRL) today released their tryout schedule and information. Coming off a successful 2014-15 season that saw the team rejoin the NRL, the Thunder are poised for a strong season in 2015-16.

Open tryouts will be held the weekend of September 12-13, with any elite ringette athletes born in 1997 or earlier eligible to tryout for the team. Tryouts will take place at the following locations, with a $50 tryout fee due at the first ice time (payable to BC Thunder NRL):

“Our program’s primary objective has always been to provide our athletes with the best elite ringette experience possible. We feel we are once again able to do that, providing the opportunity to train and develop at an elite level in a competitive environment,” said Chris Wakefield, BC Thunder GM and Co-Head Coach. He continued “We have had unprecedented interest in the team this season which will allow for a strong, competitive environment from day one.”
The BC Thunder open the 2015-16 season at home October 17/18 against the defending Western Conference Champion Edmonton WAM!, before traveling to Richmond Hill and Cambridge for their first road trip October 31/November 1. In total, their first 7 games will be played against the top three teams from the NRL Championships last season.

Associations wishing to host NRL home games or have NRL players/coaches run clinics can contact the BC Thunder. Season Passes, which cost $60 and are good for all NRL regular season games, go on sale September 12 and can be purchased from any NRL player or at all home games.
