2011-2012 National Ringette League season gets underway on Saturday

Ottawa, Ontario – October 14, 2011 – The 2011-2012 season of the National Ringette League (NRL) will begin this weekend, with 14 of the league’s 19 teams hitting the ice across Canada. This is the eighth official season of the NRL with competition taking place in two conferences – an Eastern Conference consisting of 13 teams and a Western Conference consisting of six teams.

Edmonton WAM! currently hold the NRL Championship title after downing the Cambridge Turbos 4-2 at the 2011 NRL Championship tournament held in April 2011 in Cambridge, Ontario. This year’s NRL Championship tournament will be held in Burnaby, BC from April 8-14, 2012.

As the league kicks off a new season, it also announces the pre-season Elite Eight rankings.
