National Ringette League announces annual award winners

April 12, 2014 – The National Ringette League (NRL) today presented its annual awards recognizing the performance of NRL athletes and coaches during regular season play. The awards were presented at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Tim Hortons Canadian ringette championships, which have been taking place in Regina, Saskatchewan this week.

Trophies were presented to the following:
Most Valuable Player (the player judged to be the most valuable to her team)
Dailyn Bell – Edmonton WAM!

Top Centre (the most outstanding player that played predominantly the centre position)
Jennifer Gaudet – Cambridge Turbos

Top Forward (the most outstanding player that played predominantly forward position)
Jacqueline Gaudet – Cambridge Turbos

Top Defense (the most outstanding player that played predominantly the defense position)
Jenna McBride – Ottawa Ice

Top Goalkeeper (the most outstanding goalkeeper)
Tori Goble – Ottawa Ice

Rookie of the Year (the most outstanding player in her first year of NRL competition)
Josie Scott – Waterloo Wildfire

Coaching Staff of the Year (the most outstanding coaching staff group of the year)
Ottawa Ice

NRL Scoring Champion
Jacqueline Gaudet – Cambridge Turbos (3.5 points/game)

NRL Goal Scoring Title
Jacqueline Gaudet – Cambridge Turbos (161 points / 26 games = 6.2 points per game)
Jennifer Gaudet – Cambridge Turbos (161 points / 26 games = 6.2 points per game)

About the National Ringette League
The National Ringette League (NRL) is the showcase league for ringette in Canada and strives to be the premiere women’s sports league in the country. The league has 13 teams participating in two conferences – a Western Conference with two teams and an Eastern Conference with 11 teams.
