After a year of big change last season, the Cambridge Turbos in 2013-14 have tweaked the line-up with a smooth mix of vets, sophomores and rookie players. At the halfway point, the Turbos are on top of the NRL standings with just one close loss to the Montreal Mission in their first 13 games.
At the front end, seasoned vets include forwards Jackie Gaudet, Britt Walden, Jess Walden and Nadia Barey. Jennifer Gaudet has re-joined us after moving back to Ontario. Elyssa Jasper came over in a November trade after experiencing several years of Lightning and Thunder! Second-year forward Taylor Campbell looks like she’s been in the league for many seasons. Our rookie forwards are Samantha McCullough, Kayla Albert and Megan Hinde, who are learning quickly from the vets.
At the back end, the Turbos get stingy defence from vets Melissa Findlay and Sydney Granger and sophomore Jenna Dupuis. New to us on D this year is Kacy Hannesson, who is a former BC Thunder player. Our D rookie is Stacey Richards, who is pretty familiar to us as a former AP.
In between the pipes, veteran Meghan Pittaway is the boss, backed up by Jessie Callander. Jessie is in her second full season with the Turbos, after backing us up for several seasons as an AP.
We count on solid support from a talented group of affiliated players that include Abby Richardson, Kaitlyn Richardson and Jess Purbrick.
The Turbos bench has been enhanced with former sniper Sharolyn Wouters joining to help out Glen Gaudet, Ken Brown and Deb Findlay.
This year’s Team Canada roster includes five players and a coach from the Cambridge Turbos. We are proud to say Jackie Gaudet, Jennifer Gaudet, Melissa Findlay, Meghan Pittaway and Kacy Hannesson, along with coach Glen Gaudet, will be looking to Take Back Jacks in North Bay later this month. #Turbocharge
