A closer look at the Gloucester Devils

The Devils have several new players this season. Allie Marcotte has joined the Devils after a very successful career with the Nepean Ravens, where her team won a U-19 gold medal at the Canadian Ringette Championships in Wood Buffalo. In addition, we are pleased to announce the addition of Sarah Brown (Goaltender), and Katherine Mulders (Defence), as roster players for the Devils.

The Devils have signed the following players as Development Affiliate Players: Darcy Woods, Ashley McKenney. Samantha Banning and Ariana Mahaney will act as Restricted Affiliate Players for this season.

The Devils coaching staff has increased with the welcome addition of Shelley Collidge and Art Marcotte. Shelley coached varsity hockey for 11 seasons in the capital – four national championships appearances and one national final amongst them – at the University of Ottawa and Carleton. She will be making the transition to Ringette and has already made an impact on the players and on returning Head Coach, Paul Youldon. “Shelley is a coach’s coach,” says Youldon. “She connects with the players, she understands the long term athlete model and the big picture of training and peaking for competition.” “Art Marcotte is one of the finest Ringette coaches, I have worked with,” acknowledges Coach Youldon. “Art won many medals with his players over his ringette coaching career in Nepean. “He is a great student of the game and excels at tactics and scouting.”

The Devils open their regular season on Saturday, October 17th at the Roger Senecal Arena at 11 am versus the Atlantic Attack. The following day, Sunday, October 18th, the Devils will host Richmond Hill Lightning, game time at 11 am, Fred Barrett Arena.
