A nitro shot for the Adrenaline

Coming off a pair of losses during opening weekend, the Adrenaline bounced back with two big wins in as many games.

In their first game of the day on Sunday, Lac St Louis faced Le Royal de Bourassa in their home opener and played the role of spoiler with a 5-2 victory. Stephanie Dufresne was named player of the game for the team with a 3 goal, 1 assist performance. Amanda Clarke and Shaunagh Howard completed the scoring, both with their first goal of the season. Goaltender Sophie Gagnon faced 30 shots and secured her first win in the National Ringette League.

Sunday evening, the Adrenaline played host to the Gloucester Devils and won 3-2 in a hard fought, fast paced game. The star of the game, without a doubt, was Sophie Gagnon who stopped 52 of the 54 shots fired her way.

Inspired by her performance, her teammates responded with three consecutive goals and with solid defensive play throughout.

Cortney Keeble with a goal and two assists, and Annie Lecours Boucher and Katherine Groulx, each with their third of the season, took care of the scoring. "We are proud of our team" said assistant coach and assistant director Jean-François Ethier after the game. "After our losses last weekend, we needed a jump start and all our players without exception answered the call. They are working hard to follow our game plan and it showed today during the two games. With only one goal against at even strength, it’s hard to be anything but proud of them".

The Adrenaline is off this coming weekend and the next game will be Saturday October 18 at 8:30PM at Kirkland arena, against the Montreal Mission.
