When Jessica Pepper hits the ice for the National Ringette League season, she will be wearing a Lac St. Louis Adrenaline jersey. The 25-year old forward from Laval was acquired by the Adrenaline on August 26 in a trade with Rive Sud Revolution. In return for Pepper, the Adrenaline sent forward Alexie-Maude Lemieux (15th pick in 2014), goaltender Mégane Desrochers (18th pick in 2014) and the 3rd round draft pick in 2015 to the Revolution.
“We are very happy to welcome Jess to our team,” said Adrenaline general manager Stéphane Vigeant. “We have had her in our sights for some time now and have been wanting to improve our offense. We had to let two promising young players go, in addition to our 3rd round pick in 2015, but it was the price we had to pay.”
With the acquisition of Pepper, the Adrenaline have improved the level of talent on the team and added a real "top six" striker without having to compromise its current formation.
“After taking a year off to focus on school, I was surprised by the news of the trade, but I was also very honoured that the Adrenaline coaching staff believed in my skill level and wanted me to be part of their team,” said Jessica Pepper. “I am very excited to be part of a team that is so positive and energetic and I think I can bring a good offensive vision to the team. I am nervous to get back on the ice, but I am up for the challenge and I am ready to prove to everyone who the real Jess Pepper is!”
The Adrenaline finished 10th out of 11 teams in the eastern conference last year and are confident that their newest addition will help improve their standings this season.
