Atlantic Attack and Le Royal de Bourassa debut National Ringette League action on Prince Edward Island

Hundreds of Islanders witnessed 34 goals exchanged as the home team Atlantic Attack and Le Royal de Bourassa furiously swapped goals back and forth in a three game series. The match-ups, having Eastern Conference playoff implications, were hosted in Charlottetown, PEI and was the first time the National Ringette League has visited the Island.

In Saturday game action, the Attack fired 58 shots on net and were leading 5-2 at the half. The crowd momentum carried them through to an 8-2 victory. Dominik LeBlanc scored a hat trick and Jenny Snowdon secured four points for the Attack. In the second game of the day, Bourassa made it 3-2 early in the 4th period and held on as they pulled ahead of the Attack in the Eastern Conference standings. Miguelle Proulx and Nicole Forest were the Attack goal scorers.

On Sunday, Bourassa quickly pulled ahead on the scoreboard and the Attack spent the game chasing a strong goal lead. Near the half, Le Royal led 7-2. The Attack attempted a comeback but each goal was responded by another marker from the visiting squad who skated away with a 12-7 victory.

Le Royal de Bourassa jumped to 6th in the Eastern Conference while the Attack slid to 8th place. The Attack will take on the Rive Sud Revolution for a three game series February 7th and 8th at their home arena in Cocagne NB. The Attack are now 8-12-0-1 in 21 games played.
