Atlantic Attack announces selection camp and home arena details

August 8, 2011 – Moncton, New Brunswick – The Atlantic Attack will open training camp for their premier season in the National Ringette League (NRL) on Saturday, August 27th at the Cocagne Arena. The first session begins at 5pm and ends at 9pm. Additional ice times for the camp will be announced at a later date and each player competing for a roster spot will be on the ice for a minimum of five hours. The camp will also include an information session, registration, fitness testing and a scrimmage, which will be open to the public. The fee for selection camp is $75.00 and must be paid by the first session. If interested in trying out, please e-mail head coach, Julien Leger, at, before August 14, 2011 to indicate your interest. To be eligible to play for Atlantic Attack in the coming season, athletes must be female and 18 years of age or older by December 31, 2011. According to league rules, there will be a maximum of 18 roster players on the team plus 7 affiliate players. The final roster decision will be trimmed to 18 roster players by October 1st.

The Atlantic Attack team will play 30 regular season games plus playoffs when the NRL season begins on October 15, 2011. The regular season games will be played over the course of nine weekends. The team will travel twice to Gatineau, once to Southern Ontario, and once to Ottawa. In addition, several home games will coincide with local New Brunswick tournaments to allow fans to witness this elite and exciting level of ringette.

The Cocagne Arena has generously offered to be the home arena for the Attack and will feature a team dressing room and the Atlantic Attack logo at centre ice. The Atlantic Attack founding committee and coaching staff is very pleased with the arrangement and is ecstatic that Cocagne is willing to go above and beyond to accommodate this professional ringette team.
