Atlantic Attack finish most successful regular season in franchise history; will host Eastern Conference playoffs on home ice

The Atlantic Attack closed out their best regular season in team history on the road for a 20-7-0-1 record in 28 games. The Attack currently hold 3rd place in the Eastern Conference and will host a three game playoff series on home ice on March 12 and 13th.

In Saturday game action, the Attack faced the Gloucester Devils and were stifled after four first period goals in an 8-4 loss. Martine Caissie scored a hat trick and Jenny Snowdon picked up the additional goal for the Attack. In a second matchup on Saturday, the Attack fired 63 shots on the Gatineau Fusion net for an 11-4 win. Miguelle Proulx had 3 points and rookie Kirsti Mason scored a goal for her 10th of the season.

On Sunday, the Attack faced the current 6th place Ottawa Ice as they fight for the best possible position in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Attack were ultimately downed in the shootout 6-5.

Martine Caissie leads the NRL in goals scored with 61 which tops her previous best of 41. Catherine Cartier of the Montreal Mission is in second place with 48 goals. Caissie is currently 4th in league scoring with 88 points.

The Attack playoff games times are March 12 at 12:45pm (Shediac Arena) and 6:30pm in Cocagne. If needed, the winner take all game will be played on Sunday, March 13 at 10:20am (Shediac). The winner of this series will move on to compete at the NRL championship April 3-9 in London, Ontario.
