The Atlantic Attack knew it would be a challenge to begin the season on home ice belonging to the defending National Ringette League champions; the Ottawa Ice. The Attack were able to hold the score close in their season opening game on Saturday, but the Ice skated away with an 8-5 victory. Jenny Snowdon, of Moncton, contributed points on all five Attack markers. In a late Saturday re-match, the Ice exploded offensively and the Attack could not contain their firepower in a 13-3 loss. Miguelle Proulx had two goals for the Attack.
On Sunday, the Atlantic Attack visited the Gatineau Fusion for a one game showdown and the Attack offense led the way with a 15-10 victory to close the weekend away game series. Seventeen year old, Jenny Snowdon, who has impressed many since making her first appearance at age fifteen in the national league dominated by 18+ players, scored an impressive six goals for the Attack. Joelle Proulx had four assists and Dominique LeBlanc contributed with three goals and three assists.
The Atlantic Attack will next welcome the Waterloo Wildfire to Halifax, Nova Scotia on October 25 and 26th.
