The Atlantic Attack return back home undefeated in their first National Ringette League road trip.
October 16, 2011 – Moncton, New Brunswick – The Atlantic Attack of the NRL opened their training camp placing a lot of emphasis on the word ‘believe’ as they began a season in which many speculated whether the Atlantic provinces would be able to compete in such a high-profile, elite league. As a result of their hard work, determination and self-belief, the Attack wrapped up their first three game road trip with the best possible outcome. The Attack posted victories in all three games they played and quickly established themselves as a team that is tough to play against. The team opened their inaugural season Saturday with a goal by Josée Doiron 29 seconds into the game leading to a 6-4 victory over the Gatineau Fusion. Later in the day, the two teams met again and the Attack scored a dramatic goal with only 2:40 left in the game to pull ahead for a 7-6 win. This game saw Joelle Proulx net her first NRL hat trick.
The momentum carried over to Sunday as the Attack defeated the Rive-Sud Revolution 6-4. Special plays were key in all three wins, as the team went 7/7 on the powerplay Saturday, and scored two short-handed goals on Sunday. The Atlantic Attack will be on the road again Nov 5-6th for a four game road trip versus the Ottawa Ice and the Gloucester Devils. The team will open their season at home in Fredericton, NB on November 19th. Please come in great numbers to support your players..
