Calgary RATH at the 2014 Esso Golden Ring Tournament

The Esso Golden Ring Tournament (EGRT) is the largest ringette tournament in the world! This past weekend the tournament celebrated its 28th annual in Calgary, Alberta by hosting 175 teams in 16 different divisions for a total of 338 games; that’s 452.75 hours of ice! If you haven’t heard of them yet, give them a look at or even a follow on Twitter @EssoGoldenRing.

As part of the 2014 EGRT, the Calgary RATH played two games against East Division rivals the Atlantic Attack. The Calgary RATH came away from the weekend with 2 big wins against the Attack by scores of 5-4 and 11-2.

The Calgary RATH would like to give a great big shout out to all the fans and supporters who filled the stands and shouted at the top of their lungs for their home team. It was so loud at times we weren’t sure if it the buzzer went off, but sure enough, it was the fans! Among those great supporters, we would like to give a big THANK YOU to both the U12A Strathmore Ripperz and the U10 Calgary NW Inferno for coming out and showing their support to the RATH as well as a massive thank you to the Esso Golden Ring for hosting such a great tournament.
