Calgary RATH athletes make U19 squad

Over the years Calgary RATH has seen a number of players come and go from the roster. Last year in particular was a challenging start to the year as many former RATH players had moved on to other endeavors. Beginning last season with just a handful of players, RATH was left scrambling to create a team. With persistent recruitment, RATH was able to build a roster, compete in the NRL West and earn a well-deserved spot at nationals. As we flash forward to the 2012-2013 season, the outlook for RATH is much more promising. Veteran players are excited about the new and upcoming talent that has joined the squad this season. The Calgary RATH are proud to announce that five of their first year players will be taking part in the U19 World Championships in December. Shaundra Bruvall, Nicole Prokop, Alex Saizew and Jocelyn Stock will be playing for Team Canada West and Nadia Izzo will be playing for Team USA. They will be facing off against Team Canada East, Team Finland, Team Russia and Team France in a weeklong tournament hosted by London, Ontario. Both coaches and teammates of these athletes are delighted to be a part of this exciting time in their ringette careers and are thrilled to have these girls representing Calgary RATH.
