Our Moncton road trip started off on the evening of Friday October 26th in a little Dash 8 airplane (27 seats) that took us to Montreal, then a slightly bigger plane (56 seats) which brought us into Moncton around midnight. Once in Moncton, we all headed to our goalie Jaz’s house where her parents were kind enough to put all the players up in.
Our first game was on Saturday at 1:30, so we headed to the rink around noon, after a pancake breakfast hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Leblanc. The evening brought some team bonding which included dinner once again hosted by the Leblanc’s. Sunday morning, the bench staff arrived at the house at 8:30 a.m., to cook a made to order breakfast for the players that included eggs benedict! Off to the rink at 10:30 for our second game, then back to the Leblanc’s to pack up and celebrate our two victories before heading for the airport to come home.
Thanks to the Leblancs and the Atlantic Attack for their hospitality – I’m sure that all the teams heading to NB this season will have a great time – although it will be tough for them to beat the weather that we enjoyed on Saturday – I think it was around plus 25!
Stay tuned for a more "behind the scenes" view of our trip which will be submitted by our media director Ali Biewald shortly.
