Do your remember your first ringette experience?

Do you remember your first time on the ice with a ringette stick??  Well this is what was offered to girls between the ages of 5-8 in Richmond Hill on September 30th.

The theme was “Come Try Ringette” and that is exactly what 50 young girls did.  With the support of the Richmond Hill Lightning Open AA players Karen Duguay, Beth Hurren, Stefanie McArdle, Lindsay McGill and Sarah Merla and a host of volunteers from Richmond Hill this vision is proving to be very successful. After only two days the retention rate was at a whopping 74% and expected to grow.

When the skating session was finish we noticed several children and parents staying behind to watch the Open AA practice. Their discussions centered around the speed, agility, quickness, accuracy and overall surprise at what level of play was available down the road.
