The Ottawa Ice thinks pink

The Ottawa Ice didn’t sport their classic purple and teal on November 13 – instead they wore their pink jerseys as part of their annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game. The event always offers a special atmosphere, and with good reason.

It was another terrific turnout as the Ice faced the Gloucester Devils. Between ticket sales, the very popular bake sale, and other goodies sold, the event was the most successful in its six years of existence, raising well over 2000$ for the cause! All of these funds raised will be donated to the Ottawa Hospital Breast Health Centre, which continues to provide amazing treatment, support & relief to women in our own lives and the entire Ottawa region at large.

This game was especially fitting this season, since Ringette Canada’s True Sport theme for the 2016-2017 campaign has been declared ‘Give Back’. The entire Ottawa Ice family is very grateful for its tight-knit community and the outpouring support it provides, which goes hand-in-hand with the team’s success.

The Ferals would like to extend a huge thank you to all fans, family & friends who attended and supported in any way. What a great success and an awesome ringette game again this year. When the two Ottawa-region NRL teams come together for a worthy cause, everyone wins! #RingetteGivesBack
