With the 2011-12 season underway, the Gloucester Devils are optimistic that with the addition of a few new players the team will gain the edge it requires to get to the next level.
This year, the team signed three new players: Amélie Dugas, Vanessa Lacroix and Mélanie Vaillant. As well, after a year away studying in Australia, Allison Gabel has returned to play. Although the players are actively engaged in increasing their conditioning and their commitment to the team, success will not come without a lot of hard work. In previous years, the team’s biggest challenge was having enough players for each game given the geographic location of several of their players. However, the Devils are a group of girls who are resilient and don’t give up when faced with adversity. Given that the average age of players is 22 years old, the Devils are a relatively young team. The coaching staff is optimistic that the direction the players are taking this year will result in a positive outcome. Every new year is the opportunity to build on the last one and this is exactly what the Devils will be doing…it is a fresh start and a new beginning that players are striving to turn into greater success.
