Gloucester Devils update

January 15, 2017

Since our last update, we have played 7 games, including a “Road Trip” to southern Ontario.

The Devils won three, lost two and tied 2 to bring our season record to 6-8-2 and a winning percentage of 44 %.

Jasmine Leblanc has stepped up her game in the last month. She played some of the best competition in the league and achieved a save percentage of 90 % and a goals allowed average of 4.5 over six full games. Few goalies in the NRL this season have surpassed a save percentage of 90 %.

The return of NRL veteran Brianna Thompson has continued to help the NRL Devils. In our last 7 games, Brianna has scored 14 points. Other leading point getters for the Devils include Kaitlyn Youldon with 19, Lauren McGonigal, 13, Allie Marcotte with 12, Stephanie Rheaume with 10, and Alison Biewald with 8.

Ashley McKenny played another game versus Gatineau and allowed only 5 goals and a save percentage of 82 % in another strong performance for this young goaltender.

In an outreach initiative in partnership with the West Ottawa Ringette Association (WORA), the Devils look forward to hosting Le Royal de Bourassa on February 12 as part of the annual WORA tournament. Many WORA players have supported the NRL Devils over the years and we look forward to seeing old friends and many young players on February 12.

The Devils will host Waterloo next weekend, prior to another trip east to Montreal the following weekend.
