This past October 29, Lac St. Louis team director Stéphane Vigeant completed a major trade with the Rive-Sud Revolution, acquiring top scorer Marilyne Bédard. Because she is currently on an active Open A roster, due to league rules, the team was required to release her from her roster player contract in order to sign her as an affiliate player after a 48 hour wait period.
"When an athlete like Bédard becomes available, you must do all you can to try and bring her on board, and that’s exactly what we did", said assistant director Jean-François Ethier. "We’ve been looking to add a pure goal scorer to get some help offensively.Even though we know she won’t be able to participate in all our games this season, she is certainly part of our future plans."
This past weekend, the Adrenaline was in Southern Ontario for three games. Although the team incurred three losses, Bédard managed to start off with her new team with 5 goals and an assist, giving her 10 goals and 11 points in 4 games since the start of the season. As far as the losses go, Ethier mentioned that with several new players this year, there is an adaptation period for everyone on the ice. Despite a 2-7 start, there is no reason to panic. With 19 games left, there is plenty of time to come back strong.
Lac St. Louis’ next game is Saturday November 8, at 6:30PM at Raymond-Bourque arena, during the St. Laurent tournament.
