The National Ringette League championship tournament will take place from April 7-11 in Charlottetown, PEI. The tournament is part of the 2009 Canadian Ringette Championships, which will see twenty-seven teams from across the country compete in three divisions – junior (ages 14-15), belle (ages 16-18) and the NRL division (ages 19 and over). The junior and belle divisions will see competition among provincial champions, while the NRL division represents the NRL championship tournament and will see the top three Western Conference teams compete against the top six Eastern Conference teams (as well as an Atlantic entry called Atlantic Attack).
Games will take place at the CARI Complex (550 University Avenue) and APM Centre (37 Lowther Drive, Cornwall) with competition in the junior and belle divisions starting on Monday, April 6th and competition in the NRL division starting on Tuesday, April 7th. Bronze medal games are Friday night (April 10th) and finals in all three divisions take place on Saturday, April 11th (10 am junior, noon belle and 2 pm NRL). All-stars and the NRL Annual Awards will be announced at the closing award ceremony on Saturday night.
