NRL Breast Cancer Awareness Game – Huge Success!

On Sunday, November 29th the Ottawa Ice hosted a National Ringette League Breast Cancer Awareness Game. They could not have been more pleased with the turn-out and overwhelming support from the local ringette community. The arena was filled with over 350 fans, ringette teams and lots of pink! Donations from ticket sales, a bake sale and sold pink and breast cancer items helped raise over $2000. All proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Ottawa defeated the Gloucester Devils 7-1, with two goals from center Jenna McBride. The game hoped to raise awareness about this devastating disease and pay tribute to individuals and families affected by breast cancer. The Open AA Ottawa team would like to thank everyone who attended, helped organized and supported the event. They hope to continue hosting this game for many years!
