Rush’s December newsletter

We, the Rush, have been keeping busy off the ice throughout this Holiday Season. Here’s what we have been up to so far throughout the month of December:

Our Manitoba rushies; Talia Gallant and Sam Renooy, have been working with up and coming U12 stars. Each week, they put on a practice for 15 U12 players in order to go through drills, help them develop their ringette skills and teach them different tactics for the game. Outside of the Rush, Talia and Sam are members of the Junior National Team, and Sam is the head coach for the U14AA Winnipeg Wild.

We are also going to be putting on two U10 mid-season development camps; one will be hosted in Spruce Grove and the other will be in Sherwood Park on December 28th, 29th, and 30th . The camps will allow players to skate with National Ringette League players and sharpen up on their ringette skills before ringing in 2016.

During the month of December, we had the pleasure of putting together a holiday hamper for a family in need, in hopes of making the holiday season just a little merrier. Working through the Edmonton Junior Chamber International Holiday Hamper Program, we were able to contribute a basket which made a direct impact on a deserving family. Our team has had the pleasure of having great people – whether it be coaches, parents or teammates – impact our lives in a positive manner and we are looking to give back just a little bit of this spirit.

The holiday season is filled with joy, laughter and time well spent with family. It is a time during which we can reflect on the past year and look forward to the next. The Black Gold Rush is a team filled with individuals who understand the importance of kindness, generosity and community involvement and are excited to lend a helping hand this holiday season.

Last, but not least, we would like to wish our Junior Team Canada athletes; Talia Gallant, Lauren Henderson and Sam Renooy, all the best at Worlds!
See you in the New Year,
-Rush
