Building off the momentum of a very busy summer for all, getting back into ringette mode was an easy transition. The first team meeting, practice & fitness sessions came quickly for the purple and teal-wearing bunch this year. What is it about walking into the rink for the first time of the season in shorts & flip-flops that makes it that much more fun? The 2016-2017 full-time roster is also smaller than previous seasons, which means that the routine and the team systems got to come together early on.
After what feels like an eternity, the Ottawa Ice is now finally switching out of pre-season mode and beginning league play. Coming off a 3rd place finish at the Canadian Ringette Championships last year, the Ferals are hungry for more success going forward. Everyone in the dressing room knows what it takes to be in that position again come April. Head Coach Bryson Lamble knows what to expect of his team, has made the goals very clear, and won’t let his athletes settle for anything less than their very best.
New additions to the full-time roster this season include Rianne Munro, Amy Kolesnik, Heidi Wippel, Molly Lewis, as well as Lane MacAdam behind the bench. It’s another very exciting season on deck. We hope to see you all around Ottawa arenas at some point in the coming months, or even at one of our matchups when we’re on the visiting side of the ice. Who knows? Maybe we’ll even run into a few of you dedicated fans in New Brunswick when we visit the Atlantic Attack in Moncton in early January. Ready or not…
