The Atlantic Attack announces team roster and regular season schedule

September 21, 2011 – Moncton, New Brunswick – The hard work and dedication of eighteen women at the Atlantic Attack selection camp finally paid off when they received notice from the coaching staff that they made the regular season roster.

As head coach, Julien Leger, expected many showed up physically prepared to compete for their place on this team. Following the selection of the roster, Leger stated, “The coaching staff is very excited about the competitive team we have assembled. We will train and push the players hard to make the playoffs in our first season in the National Ringette League.”

The coaching staff comprised of Leger, Kathryn Pringle, and Gilles Proulx are proud to announce their official roster for the 2011-2012 NRL season to include the following players:

For many players, competing in the National Ringette League is the realization of a lifelong dream. Josée Doiron, an all-star forward from Cap-Pélé waited a long time for this opportunity and feels others will aspire to play in this league, “playing in the NRL is something I never thought I would be able to do, and having the chance to compete in this league will be an experience of a life time! Finally, we will have a stable and organized schedule of games and challenging competition in our region. We will now be able play the fast game of ringette we all love to play. I think having this team in Atlantic Canada will help a lot to promote the game and the younger players will want to develop, because they will now have the dream to play in the NRL when they become older.”

The team also has 7 affiliate player positions available that they will name on October 1st.

The Atlantic Attack will kick-off their premier home game schedule in Fredericton with an opening ceremony and three games against an Eastern Conference opponent from Lac St Louis, Quebec. The team’s home game schedule this season will coincide with local ringette association tournaments to give as many New Brunswick communities as possible, the opportunity to view this elite level of ringette. Ticket prices and details will be announced soon and the team encourages the public to support them on their Facebook group, Atlantic Attack (NRL).
