The Attack keep the momentum going, potentially crush opponent’s playoff hopes

February 5, 2012 – Cocagne, New Brunswick – The Atlantic Attack closed out their final set of regular season NRL home games on a positive note. The Attack took 5 out of a possible 6 points from Bourassa as the Attack currently maintain 5th place in the Eastern Conference.

In Saturday morning action in Cocagne, the Attack played their first ever official NRL game in their home rink and they made sure it was special. In a high scoring affair, the Attack impressed their fans with 9 spectacular goals to defeat Bourassa by a score of 9-7. Karine Doiron secured the victory in goal and Martine Caissie had 4 goals and 1 assist. Josée Doiron also had a solid outing with 2 goals and 2 assists. Later in the evening, the Attack had a 3-1 lead with 15 minutes remaining in the game when Bourassa quickly rallied and scored three goals in a span of 1 minute and 10 seconds. Gabrielle Cormier scored a power play goal to tie the game back up, however, Bourassa sealed the win in a shootout.

In Sunday morning action in Bouctouche, the Attack put Bourassa’s playoff hopes in jeopardy as they skated to a 6-4 victory. The Atlantic Attack have an impressive 14-10-0-2 record in their first National Ringette League season. The Attack will now travel to Gatineau, QC on February 18-19th to play their last four remaining games to close out their regular season. In order to make the playoffs, the Attack need to stay within the top 8 teams in the Eastern Conference.
