The Gloucester Devils travelled west to play the Calgary Rath in a 4 game series on the weekend of November 14 and 15.
The Devils came away from the series with 1 win, 2 loses, and 1 tie / loss in shoot outs.
Leading scorers for the Devils included Allison Biewald and Kaitlyn Youldon, each with 7 points and Lauren McGonigal with 4 points.
Jasmine Leblanc once again had an excellent series. She stopped 140 out of 157 shots for a save percentage of 89 and recorded a goals against average of 4.2 – both measures above average for a goaltender in the National Ringette League.
Attendance at the games was very impressive – an average of 200 spectators – with one of the games at 7:30 am local time! The Rath organization also hosted the games in the middle of a local ringette tournament, providing the perfect venue to showcase the NRL. The next generation of Rath players – ten years out – were treated to a clinic put on by Rath and Devils players.
Colleen Hagan can be seen below taking on a Rath defender. The reader is left imagining who won this one-on-one encounter.
