What has the RUSH been up to anyways?

The Black Gold RUSH has certainly been keeping busy throughout the months of February and March. Here’s what the RUSH has been up to:
First off, the RUSH would like to extend a big Thank You to the Sherwood Park Ringette Association and to Sheldon Taitinger for taking the time and initiative in organizing the 2016 U14AA Sherwood Park Friendship Tournament. On February 26, 2016, the Rush hosted a friendship game at the Glen Allen Rec Centre, where they skated with future NRL players from Calgary, Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Par and Zone 2 in a fun and fast-paced friendship game. The RUSH loved meeting and playing ringette with the young ladies and would like to wish them the best of luck in their ringette careers!

The RUSH would also like to give another than you- this one to the Pembina Ringette Association, who hosted a league game between the RUSH and the WAM, where Black Gold downed Edmonton with a 7-1 win. It was an electric atmosphere with the support from volunteers, board members, coaches and players from Pembina Ringette who rallied their support for the NRL and helped showcase our sport.

Last but not least, after their first year in the league and with 13 NRL rookies, the RUSH has clinched the final spot in the western conference to advance to the National Ringette League Championships. Black Gold would like to thank the BC Thunder for a well fought series. Black Gold would also like to extend another huge thank you to all of the volunteers, our fans, as well as the Spruce Grove Ringette Association, St. Albert Ringette Association, Pembina Ringette Association and Sherwood Park Ringette Association. Thank you for of your support in this inaugural season- we couldn’t have done it without you!
