The Waterloo Wildfire are off to a fast start in the new National Ringette League season.
Following a home opener 9-5 win over the Whitby Wild and and a 5-4 victory in Richmond Hill last weekend the Waterloo squad travelled to Whitby on Saturday afternoon and defeated the Wild 7-3 for their third victory in as many games.
Sophmore centre, Bryanna Kelly, led the Wildfire with two goals and two assists while co-captain, Amanda Somerville, and rookie Katie Truman each added a pair. Stef McArdle had the other Waterloo marker and added two assists while anchoring the Waterloo defense. Amanda Voisin played a strong game in the Wildfire cage stopping 24 of 27 shots.
The Wildfire entertain their Waterloo Region rivals Cambridge Turbos this coming Saturday, October 31 at 7pm at RIM Optimist rink in Waterloo before heading into the Hespeler Arena in Cambridge on Sunday at noon in a return match with the Turbos.
